Seditio default’s bbcode for code highlight is just a basic way to highlight our code. No tags color highlight, break of the spaces, no line numbers etc. This core hack will add the functionality of the famous and awarded Geshi

GeSHi - Generic Syntax Highlighter

GeSHi started as an idea to create a generic syntax highlighter for the phpBB forum system, but has been generalised to this project. GeSHi aims to be a simple but powerful highlighting class, with the following goals:

* Support for a wide range of popular languages
* Easy to add a new language for highlighting
* Highly customisable output formats

GeSHi aims to do this all as quickly as possible. Many customisable features of GeSHi facilitate speed increases, and you can easily find a balance between the amount of highlighting done and the speed in which it is done.

GeSHi supports PHP5 and Windows, and has even been used to highlight code on ASP pages. Numerous blogs, wikis and forums use GeSHi, including Dokuwiki, Mambo, phpBB and WikkaWiki.

In LDU recent items had the function to get the latest comments from pages polls and other areas. In seditio this feature for some reason removed we are going to bring it up in seditio.

This is how polls are looking by default. Notice that it doesn’t look like a poll so don’t expect many votes from visitors.

Also notice that ugly space in the second pic above the first option. These things we are going to fix now.

When there is a new post in a forum section since our last vistir then the character “+” is showing in front of the section’s title. It’s ok but i bet there are still people who use seditio or ldu and they didin’t know that. In this quide if you follow all directions then we will have added to our forum sections a new status icon like this.
